Garden Shutters | Spellbinders

Hi everyone! Today I’m sharing a card project that features the brand new Spellbinders / Becca Feeken Garden Shutters Collection. I’m featuring the Primrose Heart Facade set. I didn’t have the card base to make this interactive, however you can also get this and this set is an add on for a fun pull tab/shutter style reveal of floral goodness!

I started by die-cutting all of my pieces. I used scraps of green for the leaves and stems, and for the flowers I used Spellbinders cardstock in Persimmon, Pink Sand, Dahlia, and Lagoon, as well as some white. For the embellished shutters, I used Cosmic Sky and Spellbinders Mirror Gold layered together. And for the sentiment I used a dusky pink color, layered on Mirror Gold, with a slight offset to let it peep through.

My background is a panel of Waterfall cardstock, upon which I layered all of the florals, using foam squares and Bearly Art Glue. I folded the leaves a little for dimension. I overlaid the sentiment with thin foam strips, and embellished the entire piece with Fashion Gold Embellishments. I then mounted the entire piece on a white notecard.

My color combo was inspired by a notebook I recently bought online and loved it so much I bought all the Spellbinders cardstock to do a color match!! I hope it inspires you to get creating with different color combos!
