Hi crafty folks! How was your weekend? I hope you were able to get some time doing what you enjoy whether that’s in the craft room or something else (or both!) Hopefully we can keep the fun feeling going with a brand new release of standalone dies from Altenew! The Suddenly Spring standalone die release is available now in the Altenew store and we are celebrating with a blog hop! You can start over at the Altenew blog if you just happened across this hop. Otherwise stay tuned for the next stop on the hop and giveaway details at the end of this post!
Altenew is also release Instant Dimension Foam Tape! This is a gigantic reel of foam tape – and somehow Altenew made it look pretty! I used it on my first project today (and snipped it into lots of tiny pieces to get look).
My card features the Mantel Decor die set. I die cut out the tall vase, and the small florals. and ink blended them to color them with Soft Lilac and Pastel Sunrise inks, and a green alcohol marker for the stem of the snow drop. I also used a spare branch from the Branches and Berries. die set which had pale blue watercolor on it. I also die cut the small frame from real wood paper.
I adhered a small square of acetate behind the frame, then used the new foam tape to add a double layer of thin strips of tape to create an enclosed shaker frame behind the die cut frame. I had some tiny iridescent heart sequins perfect for a tiny shaker, so I popped a few of these onto the centre of a white panel of cardstock and then overlaid the frame, trapping the sequins.
I mounted the vase on top the frame with more foam tape and then adhered the branch and flowers behind it with liquid glue. I also added a tiny dot of Nuvo Drops to the flower centre. My sentiment was heat embossed in white onto Jet Black cardstock – it’s from the Scalloped Ornaments stamp set released last month. I then added it to the card with another thin strip of the foam tape. Super fun and CAS shaker don’t you think?
My next card features the main flower from Whimsical Garden. This set has outline dies which add detail to, and layer over the top of the base shadow die. I die cut the outline die from Gold Mirror Cardstock, and the base die from Blush cardstock. Before adhering them together, I colored in the Blush die cut floral with pink shades of alcohol marker from the Sunshine Valley Garden set to add dimension.
For my background, I used one of the dies from the Circular Elements die set. I die cut it from white cardstock, then mounted it over an aqua cardstock so that the dots showed through. I then mounted the floral over the top with foam squares. My sentiment is from the Slim Sentiments die set, die cut from Gold Mirror cardstock and snipped to fit over the card. A few sparkling clear sequins finished the card.
My final card features the Whimsical Garden set again, this time using a variety of the leaves and stems. I die cut them from a variety of cardstock scraps in my scrap drawer, and Gold Mirror cardstock. I arranged them on a white notecard with foam tape and liquid glue.
I curved a sentiment (from Bouquet of Love) in my MISTI and stamped it in Obsidian Black directly onto the notecard. I decided to embellish with gold thread and a few clear droplets to finish, and keep the clean and simple look.

It’s honestly so cool and refreshing to see how creative you are with using up scraps…that is something I try to do as much as possible, but often forget. Lol. It’s kind of like a puzzle to solve in figuring out how to create something from “trash” 😆
