Hi everyone!
Popping by with a reminder that there is still time to enter this week’s Time Out Challenge. For this challenge we are inspired by the words:
“Give thanks with a grateful heart.”
For my card I wanted to pull on the word ‘grateful’ and obviously go for hearts – any excuse ! I decided to venture into patterned paper territory :O Don’t be shocked! I have so much of it I just need to actually use it! The piece I grabbed is by Lawn Fawn (they actually popped a sheet in free with one of my orders). I trimmed it down to 4″ x 5.25″ and distressed the edges. I adhered it with tape runner to a cream Simon Says Stamp 100lb card base slightly larger than the paper and ruffled the paper edges.
For my focal point I used a card from a Simon Says Stamp card kit and swiped the edges with Delicata Golden Glitz ink. I adhered it at a jaunty angle with foam tape to the card. The sentiment was created using the new Simon Says Stamp Grateful die. It’s a two part die, I trimmed the background from black cardstock and the main sentiment from gold mirror cardstock and adhered them together. I then popped it up on foam tape on the front of the card.
To finish off the card I adhered some gold sequins and seed beads by Lucy’s Little Things, and added some Wink of Stella (clear) and glossy accents to the flowers for a bit of interest.
Hope you like it – make sure to go check out the other DT cards, this week we also have Karren Guest Designing with us, her cards are varied and gorgeous, make sure you go check out her blog!
That’s it from me for today,
Jenny x
This is fabulous! I love everything about it – the stripes, the sentiment, the gold – all work so perfectly together.
So very pretty, Jenny … deliciously feminine and soft … with a perfect touch of drama in those bold stripes … gorgeous! Hugs, Anita 🙂
Fun idea to distress the edges of your paper Jenny, I haven't done it in ages, should give it a try again! I love the layout in your card and the colors are so happy and girly. Great job!
That sentiment looks really good! And why shouldn't you use the paper? It fits so perfectly! Enjoy the weekend!
I am in love with those word dies with the background die to go with! This is wonderful. I love the gold on the edges of the striped panel, and I love distressing on the heart paper. A beautiful combination of elements on this gorgeous creation.
