Hi everyone!
We have a new challenge over at AAA Cards this week – Circles! So many possibilities. Make sure you check out the Design Team’s inspiration, and this week we have Jessica V Lin joining us as guest designer. Her card is fabulous, and I recommend going and checking out her other cards on her blog, absolutely gorgeous!! We have $20 up for grabs to spend courtesy of our kind sponsors Stampendous for the winner too!
For my card this week I decided to do some inlaid die cutting. I took a piece of Tim Holtz watercolor cardstock and spritzed it with water. I then added a rainbow of Distress inks over it and allowed it to dry. As a finishing touch I sptritzed it with clear glimmer mist for some sparkle.
I die cut the Simon Says Stamp Luminary Circles from a Neenah Solar White 85lb card cut to 4.25″ by 5.5″ and again from the watercolored piece. I then took a Neenah 100lb cardbase and covered the front in glue runner and placed the die cut white piece over the top. I then pieced all of the die cut circles from the water color piece into their matching holes. I was sure to keep them the right way round to not ‘break up’ the color.
As a finishing touch I added a sentiment from The Ton’s Basic Labels stamped in Versafine Onyx Black ink, trimmed and popped up on foam squares.
Be sure to join us this week, we can’t wait to see what you come up with!!!!
Jenny
I absolutely love this CAS design. Adore the colours and using the back popped up sentiment gives it a dramatic look x
Some patience needed then to keep all the colours the right way round! Fabulous use of circles and I love the rainbow effect.
Wonderful, simple and effective card, Jenny! – Sweet Kobylkin

What a striking CAS card this is! It always amazes me how a simple design can have such impact when done well, and this is just perfect!
