Morning all!
I stamped the cupcakes on Neenah Mocha Mix craft cardstock (foolishly in black ink which shows up if the paper pieces aren’t quite in the right place), then again in versamark ink over several different patterned papers. I embossed in white and cut out the various elements then glued them to the black stamped images. I’m not great at intricate cutting so have stayed away from paper piecing until now, but I’m really pleased with how these turned out. For a real expert, check out Vicky at clips-n-cuts.com to see how it should be done.
I wrapped some pink American Crafts satin ribbon around the top and added some Thickers for her name and age. A Fiskars corner punch was used to give the corners some interest. This corner punch is a total bargain – three in one and really adds a pretty element to a card. It’s a good alternative to corner rounding and I use it a lot.
The card was distressed in Spun Sugar Distress ink and foam adhesive used to mount it onto pink textured cardstock.
Finally, the cupcakes were decorated with stickles, pearls, liquid pearls and white enamel accents. I nearly didn’t use the enamel accents – it was the last part of the card and it is a nightmare to avoid messy splodges but it turned out OK…mostly.
Now it is off to work again for me – booooo!
Cheers
Jenny
